Congrats Lisa.

SPCC - Color Combo #17

I have this obsession for aliens!
No really!
I got this cute paper from Crate Paper and my intention is use it
to scrap photos of my brother, whom I've claimed all his life is an alien! Eventually I get to that point, since I keep finding
other things I want to use it on.
I found this unfinished Rocket at
Michael's and just had to have it.
I even made an older man jealous when I had it in
my hand and no more were to be found.
This week's colors match the paper perfectly!
I have to admit papering the rocket seemed daunting so I went
with red acrylic paint to paint the main part of the rocket.
I used the paper on all the little areas to highlight it.

Here's this week's SPCC Colors:

Juju Bee's Blog Buzz

Well hello there:)
Welcome to my blog!
If this is your first stop, you will want to
start here Juju Bee's Blog if not, let's get buzzin'!
Soon the house will be filled with the
sweet delicious smells of Thanksgiving.
Mmmm!
What is a favorite Thanksgiving
holiday tradition of yours?
It can be something that you've always done or
something new that you are starting.
I'd love to hear all about it.
Just leave a comment for this post.
I will choose a lucky contestant to win this prize...

Big thank you my handsome hubby not only
gave me vinyl but also heat pressed it on the bag!

~ My favorite tradtion started the year The Grinch came out with Jim Carey. As a family we went to see the movie. The next year it came out on DVD and again on thanksgiving day after dinner we watched the movie together, it happens every year now. There's been a couple years though that've had to watch it by myself, but I never fails :). Thanksgiving can mean a huge dinner with family and friends, or it could mean a smaller dinner with just family. It's a day for thanks and a day for unity :).

After you have completed the task, buzz on over to my friend,
Janelle's blog for more fun and prizes!

YAY! WOW! HUH? CRAZY!

My emotions all over the place right now.

I'm so excited about so many things yet also overwhelmed.
And I'm ready to share my biggest secret with you!
Nope not scrappy related.
Justin and I are in the process
of buying our first home!
YAY!!!
I had given up for the time being.
The market here is pretty bad and what we
could get for our budget was horrible.
But things all came together in the past two weeks.
We're set up with a wonderful Realtor.
Saw maybe a total of 6 houses.
This doesn't count the many
we've seen the past two years. :P)
We walked into this one last week and LOVED it!
We put in our offer and it was accepted!
Everything has begun.
If all goes well, we'll be closing Oct 29th.
I'm excited but sad.
I hate not being with my mom anymore, but I need my own space.
I have a feeling we'll find a way to hang out often :)
See Things are a but crazy :).

If you have advice let me know!
It's our first home and we don't quite know all the ins and outs.

SPCC - Color Combo #15

For this one I used a canister that used to hold incense.
I used this weeks colors and my favorite butterflies to jazz it up.
I also stamped the orange background paper with butterflies using
versa marker and clear embossing powder.
Inside I'll be putting some goodies for a friend.
Pencils fit well in these, so I'm thinking I'll be
decorating a second one just for me.

Shaker Box Tutorial

You girls asked for shaker box tutorial and here it is!
Let me know if you have any questions!
I hope to see you all try it!

Quick hint!!
It may be on a future challenge on Juju Bee's!!

Questions & Answer Portion:

Kristin, this was such a cool tutorial. I have seen shaker boxes before but they have always seemed like too much of a hassle for me to try but you made it look sooo simple. The foam strip part did confuse me a bit. Where do I find those?
I bought 3D-Dots (Foam) from walmart and I'm using just the excess around the main 3D Foam Dots. You can also purchase the rolls of Foam Tape, but you will have to cut it into thin strips. The thinner they are like the one in the video are easier to apply to rounded edges.

YAY! I'm scrappin'!

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

I've been on the go since Tuesday and I'm so lazy right now!
My mojo is there but my head keeps saying go back to sleep!
I've got a few projects I really want to finish
though so I'm working on them, though very slowly.

Justin and I got see "All about Steve"
with Sandra Bullock yesterday!
That was cute.
I really like the Proposal better though.

Mom and I went to the LSS Friday night for a Crop
and I was able to complete 2 Layouts. Yay!
One more done for our vacation book.

I used 52 Sketches 52 Weeks - sketch #35 for this layout:

How can you go to Disneyland and not get ears? LOL!

And this one was made using the www.PagesMaps.com
sketch we're using here on Craftasticlife.

Have you noticed we go to Tombstone often?
This is Mom, my brother Joe and me!
This also is for the Shopping List Challenge.
I used:
1 large flower
3+ Buttons
Cardstock Background
Color Yellow
Ink
2+ Photos

I worked on a few bottle cap magents today and
I also did a few bottle caps for bracelets.
Tommarrow I'll try to get a few more done.

Be on the look out for bottle cap bracelets
in the Etsy store soon!
I even have a halloween one in mind!
Have a wonderful week!

Fun School Supplies

How do you make learning more fun?
Or what do you give a wonderful Teacher as a gift?

I found this portfolio and just had to have it for school.
Yes just for me!
I like having a separate note pad for class
just to take notes and this Portfolio is perfect.
A legal size pad fits in side or like in my case I
placed a Grid Paper Pad inside since it's for Math Class.

OH!!! Good news on that point :0).
I made a B+ on my first test!! Whoopee!
Way better than I had thought :0).

Okay back to the project.
Basic Grey Recess Paper line.
Sorry can't remember the
manufacture of the Apple Die Cut Paper :0( .

Check this project out on If It's Groovy.
