YAY! Inspiration!

My buddy Erin recently posted two very
fabulous hair clip organizers
and I fell in LOVE with her idea.
Of course that means I made my own!!


I did just like Erin and used a canvas.
Wrapped tulle around the canvas making it
alittle bunched to a more interesting effect.
Then wrapped it with twine.
I used decorative brads on most areas
where the twine crossed its self.
Then decorated it using ribbon flowers and a
misted flower from the Jan Kit from Juju Bee's!
I added hooks to the bottom just like Erin's.

Once the misted flower completely dries
I'll be putting it in the master bathroom
to hold the many clips I've gathered.

Since I bought tulle for the canvas I bought
quite a few other colors to make flowers!
Most of the ones below have the bar
pins in the back, to wear on clothing.
The two on the bottom right corner are mine!
I've made them into hair clips.

Why the fascination with hair clips?
I recently cut my hair very short!
It's above my shoulders something that hasn't
happened since I was in high school!
It's too short for my normal but I do like it.
It's looks super cute
and it's super easy to style.
Since it's so short I can't put a pony tail
so to dress it up a little I've
been buying cute little hair clips.

Most recently for Joe's
graduation I bought a flower one.
It was very pricey!
$5.00 for one little hair clip.
So I'll be making me a ton in every
color since tulle is only $.97 a yard.
And I have plenty to make mom
a few pins for her jackets.

Having your tool ready for use is very important if your at home or going to a crop.

Navy Graduation, Jelly Belly & More

My schedule is still a little crazy,
but it seems to be calming down.

We just came home from our biggest event!
Joseph's Navy Boot Camp Graduation in Chicago, IL.
It was cold, it was snowy and it was FUN!
I'd never been to Chicago before!
I'd never even seen REAL snow before!
I even got to go to the largest
science museum under one building.
And of course we didn't leave with
out having a Chicago style hot dog!

It was a long and eventful weekend.

How to Organize Scrapbook Stickers

Factors to Consider When Choosing an Organizational System

Before you can begin to organize your stickers, you’ll need to spend some time thinking about what type of system best fits your crafting profile. Ask yourself these questions:

How many stickers do I have? Your organizational system won’t work unless it is large enough to accommodate your entire collection.

How large do I expect my collection to get? Scrapbookers who only buy new stickers when they are needed for a specific project will need much less storage space than those who prefer to buy whatever catches their eye.

Do I like to attend crops? Scrapbookers who need to transport their supplies to crops or classes will need to consider the portability of their organizational system.

How much can I afford to spend? It’s not necessary to spend a small fortune to organize your stickers, but it is a good idea to consider your budget before purchasing any organizational tools.

How to Organize Scrapbook Stickers
Contrary to popular belief, there is no “right” way to organize your scrapbook supplies. When deciding how to organize scrapbook stickers, you have a number of options. For example:

Theme: Scrapbookers who frequently complete pages with travel, baby, or holiday themes may find this method of organization most logical.

Style: If you don’t scrapbook thematic pages, you can try organizing your stickers into general style categories such as vintage, grunge, contemporary, or ethnic-inspired.

Color: If most of your stickers are general-purpose embellishments, sorting by dominant color is a simple yet highly effective organizational strategy.

Purpose: Separating your stickers into categories such as alphabets, titles, borders, tags, and general embellishments is a simple way to organize smaller supply collections.

Product Manufacturer: If you love Basic Grey, Chatterbox, KI Memories, or other coordinating product lines, sorting your supplies by manufacturer will make it easy to quickly pull together a finished layout.

If you have a relatively small amount of stickers, you may want to include your die cuts and rub-ons in the same file categories. Since all of these supplies serve the same general purpose, this is an easy way to minimize the amount of time you spend searching for embellishments.

Popular Organizational Tools
Organizational tools to consider when storing your scrapbook stickers include:
Binders: A large binder filled with plastic page protectors makes it easy to flip through all of your stickers at a glance. If you have a number of smaller stickers, the pages commonly used to store baseball cards will be quite useful.
Cropper Hopper offers Sticker Binders:

Plastic Storage Drawers: Drawers help protect your stickers from damage while accommodating very large collections.
Drawers come in all sizes from 81/2 x 11 to 15x15. You can find the type that fits your needs.



Boxes: If you’re looking for a storage system that is both functional and attractive, pick up a number of decorative boxes and label each box with the appropriate category.
Use Plastic clear bins of for a more stream line look try using photo boxes.

Bulletin Board: If you like to be able to see all of your stickers, place them in plastic storage bags and tack them to a large bulletin board.
Bulletin Board is nice because you can rearrange them as often as you need to.

For my stickers I organized them by theme from a-z in hanging folders in a filing bin. So far this is my favorite way.

Clean Sweep Challenge #1

I currently keep my ribbon pinned or in little baggies in clear drawers. I like this method because I usually think of a color I’d like for my project, go to that drawer and I can easily look through my ribbon. Small scraps or thin ribbon is put into small baggies you can find in the craft department at Wal-mart.



I use ribbon a lot and it became an issue when it was time to pack for crops.
I’ve been seeing these wonderful bags by Pull-EZ which retail for over $18.00.

These are wonderful, but I didn’t need a bag that big, nor could I find one locally. So one day while strolling through the make-up isle I saw small clear bags. The plastic is thick and it’s easy to take a Crop-a-dile and punch holes where you wish.


I need to warn you, I made the one below with too many holes and put in way too much ribbon. I put in about 2ft – 3ft of each ribbon. That exceeded the limits of the bag.


So I’ve redone the bag with less holes spaced about 1 ½ inches apart from each other in every direction. There are holes in both sides of course. This will help insure the ribbon will pull easily and not become stuck.

These would be awesome to make one for each color in your stash and they are a steal at only $2.00 a bag.

Okay Ladies, now that you have a few ideas I can’t wait to see what you come up with for your storage solution.
