Family Mini Album

In April my mom, a friend and I went to CKC in Mesa.
We took 3 classes total and my favorite was
the mini album using canvas refill pages!
I Loved it so much I'm using the base idea here.

For Mother's Day I told my mom she and my
dad were getting a photo shoot with the girls.
I must admit I'm unwilling to give
her the mini album I made below. Sorry Momma!

For this album I used Prima Canvas Refill
Pages 6"x12", That's How We Roll **May Kit**
from Tally Scrapper as well as
other odds and ends I found in my stash.

Sears is fantastic if that's all you have near
you for taking professional photos, but looking
for local photographers is even better and you catch
those moments that aren't usually found in the stuffy
professional studio sessions. With local
photographers you can usually pick your own location,
and adapt as much to you're liking as possible.
In our case I ask the talented photographers to
work their magic and using their skills to help us
and our settings become their piece of art.
They know what works best and we can always let
them know if it's comfortable enough for us.
If you are concerned about price, compare the
time spent at a studio like Sears, cost of just
a CD with your selected photos and cost of prints,
they will more then likely be exactly the same as
a local photographer if not even better
with the independent photographer.

We booked this photo session with the very talented
Erin Ratchford of Erin. Ratchford.Photography.
If you are local I highly recommend Erin, she's easy
to work with and great at her skill.

These little girls have their Nana & Papa
wrapped around thier little pinkies!

Tim Holts has this amazing little rolls
of film strip now for projects. I used a
small strip and created my own cartoon to
put behind it. I made my hearts go from
right to left though I realize they are no
where near perfect I like how it embellished
the page of our little family.

I love these photos of just my parents.
I'm not sure the last time they had photos taken.
They've been married just over 30 years and
still love each other very much, that's
something to look foward to with my hubby!
Thanks for visiting today.
If you have a blog or links to your current
projects please leave me comment with them and
I'd love to see what you've been up to!

Graduation, Cheerleaders & Jewelry...

Just when you think life is about to calm down there's new developments! This last week was fun but exhausting! My brother-in-law graduated from U of A on Saturday and the preparation to get us there was overwhelming.

First there was planning to get everyone to enjoy a lunch together to celebrate him. Then what we're we going to dress the Girls in? And me, I needed a cute outfit! (My outfit mattered to no one but me BTW.)

To many this wouldn't seem like such a big deal, but we are so proud of Daniel and all he has achieved and we wanted to make his day special.

You see, Uncle Daniel "loves his nieces to pieces" and has been hinting at having them wear U of A outfits. Justin and I just ignored the hinting. But with Graduation and Lots of family getting together we figured now was the perfect time to fulfill his wish. With lots of searching online we found the girls UofA cheerleading outfits. With in a couple days those were delivered. Then their hair pieces. Justin wanted pom-pom bows and the cutest thing I could think of was korker bows.

So I learned with the help of You tube how to create my own korker bows.

Then it was finding tennis shoes, 2 pairs of course. A couple hours at the mall with just 1 pair in sight. But thankfully Target was nice enough to carry an even cuter set with BLING x 2! Finally the outfits were together.

Then it was my turn. I've been wanted to make my own jewelry with risen flowers for quite some time and after stocking up on items I finally did.

With the help of my mom and dad, the girls arrived to lunch with family rocking their new outfits. Uncle Daniel was so excited when he saw them!

Uncle Daniel with his little Cheerleaders. Congrats, Daniel, we are all so proud of you!

Saturday Turned out to be a great day and we hope Daniel enjoyed it as much as we did.

Spring

Spring has finally found us!
Our little princesses have a wardrope to envy!
They have plenty of pretty warm
weather clothes to choose from!
3 days straight they got to wear some form of Tutu.
But on this day it was extra special.

They were going to meet their great
Auntie Pat for the first time!

Oh how I wish my brain wasn't on over load all the time.
I forget to catch those very specail moments much too often.
All I have for photos is one with the
four of us and my aunt while at dinner.
And of Course these:

I sure hope I can remember to catch the
memories better from now on,
especially now that I've upgraded to an iPhone.
For now I have these photos.
These Cupcakes sure love thier Nana & Papa!

I have to tell you how silly my girls are!
Nana was in TX with Auntie Pat for a
couple weeks and Papa had been sick since Nana left.
That ment no visits at all!
This was a bad mix for the girls.
Olivia was actually having it pretty rough with Nana.
Olivia was giving shooting darts at Nana with her eyes.
Olivia was mean, lol.

Papa came by later on in the evening and by then Olivia
was already in the forgiving phase with Nana.
As soon as she saw Papa though she went into full crying mode.
Her cries were so hurt and upset.
My goodness it was a show!
Ava thankfully was very calm and just happy to have company.

It's been alittle over a week now and there are no
darts or crying just lots of love!

Well Happy Spring and I hope
the weather is nice in your area!
Summer is creeping up much too fast here in Arizona.

Swappitty Swap Challenge

Bree from Tallyscrapper.com recently
hosted a Swappitty Swap Challenge where
we swapped photos with our partner.
It was a way to Scrapbook for someone
else, and it was so much fun!

I was paired up with Kelzpop and was able to scrap
a darling photo of her daughter Braelyn at the Pumpkin Patch.

I recently participated in a Yellow Swap in a Scrap group.
I was in charge of handmade flowers and had quite a few left over.
So this little pretties were perfect to brighten up the page.
Here are the other flowers I made.

It was fun scrapping for someone else.
And it was certainly a challenge to come up
with a layout that another person may love!
TFL!

My little Monkeys

Uncle Daniel LOVES his little nieces to pieces as he so often says
and this means when he visit he takes plenty of photos.
I'm so grateful that he does because I never got my own photos
of the girls in their little monkey hats.
I was able to take these photos from his Facebook page :).
I need to start marking the actual Layouts with the girls initials
so we make sure later on even we can tell who was who!
Thanks Uncle Daniel! TFL!
