Well hello there:)
Welcome to my blog!
If this is your first stop, you will want to
start here Juju Bee's Blog if not, let's get buzzin'!
Soon the house will be filled with the
sweet delicious smells of Thanksgiving.
Mmmm!
What is a favorite Thanksgiving
holiday tradition of yours?
It can be something that you've always done or
something new that you are starting.
I'd love to hear all about it.
Just leave a comment for this post.
I will choose a lucky contestant to win this prize...

Big thank you my handsome hubby not only
gave me vinyl but also heat pressed it on the bag!

~ My favorite tradtion started the year The Grinch came out with Jim Carey. As a family we went to see the movie. The next year it came out on DVD and again on thanksgiving day after dinner we watched the movie together, it happens every year now. There's been a couple years though that've had to watch it by myself, but I never fails :). Thanksgiving can mean a huge dinner with family and friends, or it could mean a smaller dinner with just family. It's a day for thanks and a day for unity :).

After you have completed the task, buzz on over to my friend,
Janelle's blog for more fun and prizes!

Gorgeous goodies - thank you for the chance to win! :-) Thanksgiving makes me think of the chance for us all as a family to take stock of all God has blessed us with, and consider how we can thankfully serve Him.

Look forward to hearing about other people's traditions!

Our latest tradition has been to go out of town, just out family. We went on a cruise 2 years ago and San Francisco last year (stopping at my in Carmel where my oldest daughter goes to college for Thanksgiving day). I won't go into detail, but sometimes it's easier to be gone so I don't have to "do" Thanksgiving at home ;)

My extended family always gets together. We have a big traditional lunch - which usually goes on into dinner - with all the favorites. There's nothing in the world like my mom's and my aunt's homemade pies from scratch...YUM!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday Kristin! I just love food and family and when combined it's the most beautiful thing imaginable! My favorite tradition would just be getting together at grandmas house and over-feasting and chit chatting about anything and everything into the wee hours of the night!

this sounds funny, but I love when my grandmother is cutting the turkey and tells me this story of when I was 3 asking for a bite.
She always reminds me that I looked like a baby bird saying "bi bi"

We don't celebrate thanksgiving here in South Africa but I have always loved the idea of it! If we did I think it would be the traditions and time spent with family as at Christmastime in our house:)

Enjoyed visiting your blog. We used to always go to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving, but now all my grandparents' are deceased. For those of you who still have grandparents, please treasure your time with them. I think Thanksgiving is all about loved ones and being with them and giving thanks to God for our blessings. Being with family, eating good food, great tradition. Thanksgiving should be everyday!

Every year we go to Glamis (desert) and go riding with family and friends. Even though we are in the middle of know where we still make a full turkey dinner and do it potluck style.

With the left over turkey bones and meat my mom used to make a turkey soup. We lost her a few years ago so I picked up the tradition. I now have a little girl of my own and it's a nice way to continue something of our own.

thanksgiving isn't really a big holiday for us so we don't have any traditions for it except to say what we are thankful for :D

We say what we are thankful for and eat pie:-) Usually around thanksgiving we head out to a conservation area (where I work) and feed the chickadees out of our hands....so fun!!

tell the hubby we say thanks! Great prize =] My favorite Thanksgiving memory is not really what happens on Thanksgiving its the day after when we bundle up and head out to go and cut down our christmas tree!!

My favorite newer thanksgiving tradition was started by my kids. We have about as many types of pie as there are people for dinner, so they have a pie-judging contest. Last year, the purchased, frozen KeyLime won out over all my time-consuming homemade ones lol!!!

honestly, there's no real tradition for turkey day. we just get together and have an early and looong dinner. that's about it.

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is being able to spend time with family. I have so many wonderful ememories of playing cards and board games and just being able to get the whole family together. It is not as easy these days to do it.

Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition...
First would be to spend with family altho we are too far away now. I guess now would be being thankful for where we are and the things around us. Making sure that the wildlife have a "feast" as well as ourselves.

It used to be being with family - but as you get older things change. And we are so far away from family now. We reflect on where we are and making sure that the birds have plenty to feast on. I look forward to stewing down the turkey for stock for the upcoming soups for the winter.

Silly as it sounds, one tradition we have is after dinner and desert we divy up some of the sale flyers for 'black friday'. the kids cut out pictures of what they'd like for Christmas and the adults make their lists for shopping the next day!

lisa said...

we divy up the newspaper for the kids to make their wishlists and the adults to make their shopping lists for 'black friday'!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is getting together with my sisters and my dad and talking about Black Friday. We read all the ads, plan our schedules and then call each other at three or 4 in the morning to make sure we are all up and ready to go.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is after all the food, family and laughter has settled for the day, I take the time to reflect upon all of the wonderful blessings that God has given me and my family.
